Every point is a real measurement, not a model. We took public-domain elevation tiles, cropped the Table Mountain massif — the plateau, Devil's Peak, Lion's Head, Signal Hill and the City Bowl — and reduced it to a grid of 16-bit heights. Only the heights travel over the wire; each point's position is reconstructed from its grid index in the browser, which is what keeps the payload at 122 KB instead of a megabyte.

Elevation data: AWS Terrain Tiles (SRTM and friends), public domain. Vertical scale is exaggerated ×2 so the topography reads clearly; horizontal distances are true.
